WHY WE EXIST
Fundación Vivat Música was founded on December 10, 2018, growing out of Semana de las Cuerdas and a simple question: how can we bring extraordinary artistic training opportunities to talented young people without their financial circumstances determining how far they can go?
Since then, we have created encounters where artistic ambition, the generosity of exceptional teachers and the diversity of participants come together naturally.

A LIVING TRADITION OF COMMITMENT TO MEDELLÍN
The Foundation continues a tradition of civic, educational and cultural commitment deeply rooted in Medellín, led by Hans Udo Steinhäuser, President of its Founders’ Assembly.
An entrepreneur and industrialist, Hans Udo has devoted a significant part of his life over several decades to building and strengthening the city’s institutions. He has served as a board member and president of organizations including the Orquesta Filarmónica de Medellín, Orquesta Sinfónica de Antioquia, Festival de Danza Contemporánea de Medellín, Colegio Alemán de Medellín and Medellín Cultural, and has served on Universidad EAFIT’s governing council.
His commitment also extends to founding institutions. He is the founder of Fundación Notas y Partituras and co-founder of the Instituto de Capacitación e Investigación del Plástico y del Caucho – ICIPC, created with EAFIT and Acoplásticos.

ONE IDEA RUNS THROUGH THIS LEGACY
Vivat carries that conviction to a new generation: creating opportunities for young people, supporting excellence and strengthening the cultural institutions that make a richer, more open and more sensitive city possible.

HOW WE WORK
Vivat works with a deliberately agile organization. Rather than concentrating resources in a large administrative structure, we build each project with a network of teachers, educational institutions, cultural organizations, businesses, foundations, venues and people committed to music.
This model lets us devote more of our effort to what matters: young people, artists and the experiences we make possible.

STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Formacol, Contiflex and integ.ro provide administrative, technological and management resources that allow the Foundation to operate with an especially efficient structure.

PHILANTHROPY
Much of Vivat’s work exists thanks to individuals, businesses and foundations that turn their resources into opportunities for others. Their support helps us keep our programs open and accessible, award scholarships, bring leading teachers to Medellín, produce concerts and create spaces where talent can grow.
LEGACY
Those who have built Vivat believe in institutions that outlive their founders. An endowment gift or a bequest to Fundación Vivat Música can help future generations of young people continue to find extraordinary opportunities through music.
